Geiger Renews Commitment to Education with $30,000 Pledge to PPEF

August 14, 2024 - Lewiston, Maine – Geiger, the largest privately held and family-owned promotional products distributor in the world, has announced a new six-year pledge of $30,000 to the Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF). This commitment will provide $5,000 annually from 2024 to 2029.

The pledge to PPEF's Tomorrow Fund allows companies and individuals to make multi-year commitments, ensuring sustained support for the foundation's scholarship programs. Geiger's donation follows the completion of a previous six-year pledge that concluded in 2023, underscoring the company's ongoing dedication to fostering education and future generations.

PPEF, established in 1989, has awarded over $3.6 million in scholarships to 1,958 eligible students since its inception. In 2023, PPEF allocated $320,500 for scholarships, benefiting a total of 170 students. These funds support students pursuing education in various fields, with a focus on those who have a parent working in the promotional products industry or who are themselves employed by a company in the sector.

Jo-an Lantz, President and CEO of Geiger, commented on the company's commitment: "We believe in the power of education to transform lives and build a brighter future for all. Our continued support of PPEF reflects our dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders, not just within the promotional products sector, but across all fields of study. We are proud to contribute to a foundation that has such a profound impact on students and their families."

Janet McMaster, a Geiger Regional Vice President and PPEF board member, was instrumental in coordinating this renewed pledge. “This renewal of support demonstrates Geiger’s ongoing dedication to fostering education and growth across various disciplines,” McMaster stated. Janet was recently recognized with the prestigious 2024 PPAI Woman of Achievement Award, a testament to her exceptional leadership and commitment to the industry.

Geiger's contribution to the Tomorrow Fund is part of the company's long-standing tradition of supporting educational initiatives. As a fifth-generation family business, Geiger has consistently invested in programs that nurture talent and drive innovation. This commitment extends to our employees through education reimbursement programs and partnerships with institutions like the Roux Institute. By fostering a culture of continuous learning, Geiger empowers its team to excel and contributes to a brighter future for the industry and the community.
